One Week Old

Never in my life did I imagine this would be how our baby would spend her first week in the world, but somehow we survived it.

On March 7th Gabriella had her chest sewn up. This morning she was able to ditch her cath, chest tubes, foley, off her blood pressure, and off her blood pressure drip. They turned her oxygen way down and currently are having her practicing breathing on her own.

We just got results back on her echocardiogram and had a huge sigh of relief that all looked good after closing her up! We are crossing our fingers she can be extubated (breathing tube out) today or early tomorrow. That’s one step closer to being able to snuggle her again!

The doctors and nurses here have done an outstanding job taking care of our precious girl. They have all reassured us that she’s right on track recovery wise. As much as they have done, I know the equivalent factor is all thanks to God and attribute that to all of you who lifted Gabriella up in prayer. Consistent prayer releases the power of God's blessing on your life and circumstances and it certainly did ours this week.

We pray as her sedation continues to wear off her little heart rate can come down a little. We pray that when they they extubate her she doesn’t have any damage to her vocal chords.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Hey thanks for stopping by! My name is Kayleen, I am fairly new to the heart mom community.  We found out at our 20 week anatomy scan that our baby girl has a severe Congenital Heart Disease called HLHS in October of 2022.
